God-Given I once knew a young man who had more talents than his fair share and a personality that could keep him unnoticed when he wanted and made him a treasure to those few he opened up to. He was a quiet guy, a smile that could make your heart melt, and a mind that was always charged with creative thoughts, although you could never tell by looking at his calm exterior. I was scared of him. Scared to talk to him. Scared to scare him off. I just wanted to know more about what was going on in his mind.
Earth The late spring's air was warm on my skin and the grass pleasantly cool beneath my bare back as I lay beneath a tree in the flower speckled clearing. The sound of the wind breathing through the trees was all that my heart ever wanted to hear; to hear the silence of the unharmed world around me. Hours had passed since I'd lain down but the quiet flow of easy, wordless thoughts in my mind was enough to make the time feel like only minutes.
